Broomfield Park Swimming Club has been teaching swimming and taking part in competitions since 1903 and the natural progression for every member through the teaching and coaching schemes is to take children to club swimmer standard and higher.
We have competitions and galas within the club, with other local clubs, and take part in Borough, County, and even from time to time in National Championships.
Senior and Junior Gala squad sessions take place every day except Saturdays.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009
There is a new look to this year’s Club Championship galas. We are holding them at Southbury Road Pool, which has 8 lanes and electronic timing, to give all our swimmers the experience of a modern gala, while keeping the atmosphere of a QE Race Night. There will be events especially for Teaching and Development Group swimmers and for Masters.
25m events are for Teaching groups swimmers and Development Squad swimmers who have not yet swum in galas for the club. Backstroke and Freestyle events are in both galas.
50m events are for 9, 10, and 11 year-old age-groups, and Masters (25-49 and 50 and over).
100m stroke events are for the Junior and Senior Club Championships, but also include the age-groups, with awards for 12 and under, 13, 14, 15, and 16 year-olds. Younger swimmers may swim these events in the 12 and under age-group.
100m IM is for Under-12, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 year-olds, and Open swimmers.
200 IM, 200 and 400m Freestyle are Junior and Senior Club Championship events.
Entry forms will be handed out but to download one go to the downloads page.
